UNITO AND FRANCOPHONIE
A PROJECT TO ENHANCE INTERNSHIPS AND JOB OPPORTUNITIES
14.12.2020
Today, Monday, December 14th, the University of Turin presented the DEFI 3R, Renforcement, Réseau, Rayonnement project, co-financed with the Francophone University Agency (AUF) and realised with a strong participation of academic and non-academic partners, such as the Embassy of France in Itlay, the Alliance Française of Turin, Réseau Entreprendre, the University of Aosta Valley and the University of Genoa.
In line with the strategies of the University of Turin, on the one hand, and the AUF (Strategy 2017-2021), on the other hand, the 3R project (Renforcement, Réseau, Rayonnement) aims to strengthen the offer of curricular and extra-curricular internships in order to support students’ employability within the French-speaking network. The main objective of the project is to set up the Plateforme UniTo de référencement: Stages et Réseaux Francophones (PLUStaF).
The strategic relationship between Italy and Francophonie is demonstrated by the number of students, enrolled at the University of Turin, who come from the member countries of the International Francophone Organisation (2921 for the academic year 18/19, 60.8% of total foreign students) and by the active cooperation agreements on environmental, medical and international relations matters, as well as on public management.
The event, virtual and streamed, took place in the presence of the Rector of UniTo, Stefano Geuna, and the Director of AUF - Western Europe, Olfa Zéribi. Christian Masset, Ambassador of France in Italy; Maria Grazia Monaci, Rector of the Univerity of Aosta Valley and Fulvio Mastrogiovanni, Vice-Rector of the University of Genoa for International Teaching, were also involved. In addition, in the context of UniTo relations with the French-speaking network, other representatives of strategic institutions have stepped, such as Ugo Ciarlatani, First Cultural Advisor of the Italian Embassy in France and Stefano Guerrini, Rector of the French-Italian University.
The roundtable on Development and promotion of intercultural innovation spaces and mobility in the AUF network, moderated by the Director of the Department of Life Sciences and Systems Biology, Cristina Giacoma, involved the associated partners.
The Institutional Coordinator for International Mobility and Scientific project Coordinator, Alessandra Fiorio Pla, opened the debate by presenting the objectives and the specific actions decided by the management committee during the definition of the 3R project. Marcella Costa, Vice-Rector for International Teaching at UniTo, next to Laurence Vignollet, Vice-Rector for international relations at the University Savoie Mont-Blanc, proposed an intervention on the existing synergies with the UNITA- Universitas Montium project, of which the University of Turin is the leader.
